CHAPTER XIII "VIKING HAMMER"

CHAPTER XIII “VIKING HAMMER”

I woke up first. I opened my eyes. We were lying on a large double bed. Bunny was still fast asleep. Next to the door in the corner, where there was a chair, the alarm went off on the cell phone. Time to get up! Stefan and I had to go to a Japanese auto parts store at 2:00 PM. I went over to the chair, gathered my clothes and very quietly went out into the hallway so as not to wake Helen. I closed the door behind me. I put on jeans and a shirt, and then went down to the first floor, where the kitchen was. Stefan was already in the kitchen. He was sitting at the table and looking at something on his phone. There was an electronic timer on the electric stove and you could see the time: 12:31. There was an hour and a half left before our trip to the store.

Red: Stefan, hi. We shook hands and bumped fists with each other to see each other.

Stefan: Red, pour yourself some coffee.
Red: From the cabinet that hung to the right of the stove I took out a large black mug with the inscription: “COFFEE”, from which I had already drunk coffee, but the only thing I didn’t know was how the coffee machine worked…
Stephen: At that time, Stefan, Red came up, look. Put the mug down here on the grate. You had to press this button, here. Yes! Everything is ready. The coffee machine started working and a stream of hot coffee began to fill the mug with black coffee very quickly.

Red: I went to the refrigerator to get cream and milk.

Stephen: Red, don’t close the refrigerator. Stefan took out five chicken eggs, cheese, bacon and a small piece of German sausage in a package that was already sliced from the refrigerator door.

Stephen laid it all out on the surface next to the electric stove. Above the sink hung a large frying pan, which Stefan placed on one of the electric burners. He opened the refrigerator again. I took out olive oil in a glass bottle and poured a little oil into the frying pan. The olive oil quickly heated up in the frying pan and sizzled.
Red: At this time, I cut off four slices of bacon and immediately put them in the frying pan.
Stefan: I opened the package of German sausage, which was already cut and put the sausage slices in a second layer on the bacon and closed the frying pan with a lid.
The kitchen was filled with the aromatic smell of bacon and German sausage. Several minutes passed.
Stefan: I took off the transparent lid from our frying pan and cracked five eggs one by one. The eggs already made up the third layer of our German pie.
Red: At this time, I cut off five slices of cheese from a large piece of French Masdam cheese and put them in a fourth layer on our German pie.
The frying pan was again closed with a transparent lid. You could see how the eggs were baked and the cheese melted.
Stefan: Took off the lid. Done. Turned off the electric mold and took out two large plates. Took out a knife and cut our four-layer German pie into two parts. Took a spatula from the drawer and put our pie on the plates. We sat down at the table to eat our German pie.
Red: What a topic! It turned out great… Delicious… I pointed up with the thumb of my right hand.
Stefan: Nodded approvingly. Cut off a piece of my German pie. Yes, it turned out just right.
We continued our breakfast. Lots of protein, healthy fats and all this was needed by the body for full and high-quality work for the whole day. After some time, breakfast was over and the feeling of morning hunger passed. Stefan washed the frying pan well and hung it back next to the sink. I got the easier job of washing our plates, forks and mugs. We were ready. We left the townhouse. We closed the door behind us. Vanessa, we allowed her “PEUGEOT 3008” so that we could go and pick up our purchase from the Japanese auto parts store, which consisted of 37 items of auto parts alone.

Stefan got behind the wheel of the PEUGEOT 3008 and adjusted the seat to his liking. The weather at 13:00 in Frankfurt was a bit gloomy, and thunderclouds were floating across the sky, but it wasn’t raining. It was a bit stuffy, but it was a different matter to drive in the PEUGEOT 3008 with climate control, which blew French coolness and freshness on you. Stefan pressed the “Engine start” button. The Frenchman’s engine roared and we rolled out onto the street, where there wasn’t a single car. It was almost inaudible how the car’s engine was working. The PEUGEOT 3008 was practically new. The car wasn’t even two years old yet. We had to go to the east of Frankfurt. An ordinary gloomy day. The grey thunderclouds were getting bigger and bigger. Somewhere far away from us, peals of thunder were heard and lightning flashed occasionally. We got into a small traffic jam, in which we stood for about twenty minutes and it already seemed that we would be delayed and would not make it to the store by 2:00 p.m., but after the traffic jam on the road, the flow of cars became less and we arrived at the store fifteen minutes earlier.
Nothing had changed in the Japanese auto parts store. Karl was sitting in the same corner and reading a magazine. He had the same big round glasses on his face and he vaguely resembled Harry Potter, who was 55 years old. Stefan entered the store first and immediately went to the counter. He took out the contract and counted out 2,000 euros. Karl put the magazine aside and asked us to go with him through the door, which was behind the counter. We walked along the corridor to the very end, where four R-18 wheels stood in a row against the wall. Karl said affirmatively: “Yes, these wheels, guys, they are yours.”
We carried all four wheels out onto the street at once. I stood by the trunk of the PEUGEOT 3008 and waited for Stefan to fold and lower the second row of passenger seats. The trunk of the PEUGEOT 3008 increased in size and all four R-18 wheels easily fit in the trunk. We went back to the store to pick up the remaining boxes, of which there were seven. Everything was there. The entire front suspension, brake discs, pads, oil, spark plugs, filters, etc. We said goodbye and thanked Karl. We put all the boxes in the trunk and drove to the marketplace, which was on the other side of the city and our way lay to the west of Frankfurt. It was raining. It was pouring down. A real downpour. At the marketplace, several buyers were walking along the rows with umbrellas and looking at cars. We drove up to the box where my uncle usually worked, but he was not there. We had to wait a little while until the rain stopped. It was obvious how pleased Stefan was that we bought everything to repair the Toyota Prado.
Red: Stefan, the rain will stop soon. Let’s unload. I’ll call my uncle.
Stefan: Red, how long do you think it will take to repair the Toyota Prado?
Red: Two. Maybe three days. Four days maximum.
Stefan: We’ll need to go to my house and pick up the extra third row of seats from the garage, plus about six months ago I bought a new battery that will need to be installed in the Toyota.
Red: Yeah, no problem, we’ll do it!
Stefan: We’re going to France for a week, and maybe we’ll get delayed somewhere along the way and our trip will stretch out to all ten days, and there’s one problem that needs to be solved before the trip. Red, I spent almost all the money on repairing the Toyota Prado, of course, there’s some left, but it’s not enough and it definitely won’t be enough for Vanessa and me.
Red: I was thinking about our trip to France, the situation with money was just as sad. Stefan, I absolutely agree with you that we will need money on the road and for a hotel and to go somewhere and buy something, and prices in the EU are very expensive. Here it was necessary to follow the rule: “Modesty is my second happiness”, and if you were going to buy something in the EU, then you also had to find where you could buy it cheaper and think ten times, and is it worth buying and spending money on it. Stefan, honestly, I am doing all this for Helen and to some extent for Vanessa, they dream of going to France, and we must be their companions and guides. Help them realize their dream. It would be much easier to stay here in Frankfurt…

Stefan: Here’s the thing! About six months ago in Frankfurt I was working part-time at a service station together with a good buddy of mine and a friend. It wasn’t much money, but I was happy with the steady income. In the end my buddy set me up and cheated me out of my money. I hadn’t signed an employment contract and was left without severance pay. At that moment Stefan laughed and then continued… At the service station for servicing and repairing cars, they had to do the hardest and dirtiest work. They paid for the work done in cash. It was obvious that Stefan wanted to take revenge on his employer for his piggish attitude and on his friend who set him up.
At the service station itself where Stefan worked. On the ground floor in the basement, electronics were stored (headlights; multimedia systems; engine control unit; computer control unit) and other electronics from BMW; Audi; Mercedes; Volkswagen, etc.
In Frankfurt, as in the entire civilized world, there was a black market for auto parts, where huckster capitalists actively traded, who were engaged in the sale of stolen auto parts, car thefts and other counterfeit products. All this brought in big profits. All this electronics for German cars was unaccounted for and stored without documentation, which clearly violated the laws of Germany and German legislation.
There was only one small thing left to do. Expropriate and punish the huckster capitalists for illegal enrichment. “Justice must be restored.” Socialism in all its beauty. It was necessary to help the huckster capitalist get rid of the illegal storage and sale of stolen electronics.
Stefan drew a plan of the bus station, which consisted of four rooms. Several boxes for car repair and a couple more production rooms where complex or preventive repairs of cars were carried out. The door to the ground floor was at the very end of all these rooms, and behind the door there was a staircase that led to the ground floor or to the storage rooms.
Stefan had keys to all the doors of the bus station, when he worked there, he made duplicate keys and getting into the bus station was no problem. The problem was at ground 0, where the basement was and where we had to get to, there was a plastic door, to which Stefan did not have a key.
Red: Stefan, opening a plastic door is not a problem. The rain had just stopped and we got out of the “PEUGEOT 3008”. We went into the box where my uncle usually worked. Somewhere here lay a huge sledgehammer under an iron rack with tools. I pulled the huge sledgehammer out from under the rack and lifted it up with my right hand. Stefan, here it is, the “VIKING HAMMER”. It was a huge and heavy sledgehammer, which could easily destroy and break through a brick wall. The sledgehammer consisted of two parts. One part of the sledgehammer was in the form of a square hammer, and the other part of the sledgehammer consisted of a blunt cone. Stefan, come here. We went outside again from the garage, where next to the wall stood a crumpled hood from a BMW X5 accident. I swung well and hit the sledgehammer in the central part of the hood. The VIKING HAMMER with a blunt cone pierced the piece of this metal through and through. Stefan, with one blow, look, the sledgehammer not only pierced the hood, but also got stuck in it. The VIKING HAMMER is a monstrous tool, monstrous in its strength and essence, which personified in a certain sense the main weapon of German workers and Victory over all enemies! Stefan, try hitting it with a sledgehammer yourself. The two of us barely pulled out the sledgehammer stuck in a piece of twisted metal. Stefan, struck a few more blows with the VIKING HAMMER and both blows pierced the metal through and through. Yes, Stefan, that’s power. The problem with the plastic door will be solved very quickly.
It was Saturday and all that remained was to wait until the evening, when the bus station where Stefan worked was closed. Helen and Vanessa were supposed to meet Suzanne today, who was supposed to go to Paris with us. There was only one chance to implement our plan with Stefan this evening. One and only chance.

I called my uncle and told him that we went to Karl’s store and brought all the parts on the list and new tires to the trading platform. In the conversation, my uncle asked for help. It was necessary to bring three cars that were standing next to the box to mind: BMW X-6; Volkswagen Tiguan; Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. My uncle carried out technical repairs of these three cars and there was little left to do. It was necessary to prepare the cars for sale and do additional “dirty work”. Wash the cars well using Karcher. Rub each interior of these cars: BMW X-6; Volkswagen Tiguan; Mercedes-Benz AMG GT with a special leather conditioner to create the effect of a new car. A pleasant smell. At the very end, put the cars on the trading platform for their further sale.
Red: Stefan, my friend and comrade! We must do very important “dirty work” and help my uncle. Prepare these three cars for sale. The Toyota Prado was standing at the very end of this row of cars, waiting for tomorrow. Stefan: No problem, what do you need to do?
Red: Now we’ll go to the office and get the keys to the BMW X-6 and Volkswagen Tiguan. We’ll drive them to the car wash and give them a good wash. We had to throw out all the trash that was in these cars. These were boxes from filters; empty plastic oil cans; sets of various parts that had been replaced and were lying right there in the cars on the mats and in the trunk. All this had to be sorted and disassembled, and some thrown away.

About two hours had passed. The BMW X-6 and Volkswagen Tiguan were completely ready. All that was left was to wipe the leather interior of these cars with conditioner and put them on the trading floor. The work on these two cars was complete and completely done. The BMW X-6 and Volkswagen Tiguan stood on the trading floor and looked like new in perfect condition.
Red: Stefan, let’s go to the office. It was necessary to give the keys to the cars to Wilhelm and take the keys to the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is a very expensive car. We will not rush anywhere. The most important thing is not to scratch anything. Very gently and slowly wash it. There was no need to rush here. Spend a little more time, but do the job wisely and efficiently.
Stefan: The Mercedes-Benz AMG GT is a cool machine, under the hood of which was an engine: 850 horsepower.

Red: Stefan, this is madness. You can hear the engine working in this machine… No, Stefan, this is still madness. Just think about it, brother, 850 horsepower. It’s just a rocket.
Stefan: This is space, baby. This is space…
Red: That seems to be it. The body is completely washed. All the dirt has been completely removed. All that remains is to clean the interior of this car. Carefully and gently wipe the dashboard of this sports car: Mercedes-Benz AMG GT 850 horsepower. With gentle hand movements, apply conditioner to the soft and pleasant leather of this car. The job is completely done. We will put this car in the most central and popular place on the trading floor, where the most people pass. Perhaps in the near future someone will become the happy owner of a Mercedes-Benz AMG GT. We once again went to the office to give the keys to the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT to Wilhelm. Red: Wilhelm, Mercedes-Benz AMG GT put in the best central place. The car is completely ready for sale.

We left the office and went to the garage next to which a Toyota Prado was parked alone. It was necessary to prepare the garage for repairs to the Toyota Prado. Stefan and I collected all the remaining trash and scattered it into bags. The garage was completely ready for repairs. An old gearbox from a BMW X-6 was taken to the warehouse.
Red: Stefan, that’s it, we can go. We just need to finish our secret business. We’ll also need this tarpaulin, which I rolled up and handed to Stefan. What else do we need for our business:

  • tarpaulin;
  • “VIKING HAMMER”;
  • a large regular screwdriver;
  • we might need this iron hammer.
Stefan drove closer to the garage. He opened the trunk, into which we put all the tools we needed for our night raid.
Stefan: Red, let’s go. It was already about 8:00 PM.
Red: Now we’re going to Vanessa’s townhouse. We needed to get ready for the night raid. Eat well. Drink coffee. Stefan: We have plenty of time. We can watch a movie, and then we’ll go on the job.
Red: We needed to leave around 11:00 PM anyway, so we could get there before you. Take sports jackets and two medical masks that will hide our faces.
Stefan: We can transport the third row of seats and the battery to the trading floor at the same time. We should have enough time and we’ll make it by 1:00 AM.
    Red: Okay, let’s do that.
Red: What movie are we going to watch?
Stefan: The Heist of the “Heat” Bank!
We raced through night-time Frankfurt to Vanessa’s townhouse.

To be continued…
